Windy Weather

I am sitting here nervously awaiting the arrival of my husband.  He decided to go on a bike ride today and rode out to Adams preserve from here which is around 30+ miles both ways.  The temp is 93 out and I think around 85% humidity.  Winds are gusting at 30 miles an hour.  He called my son around 40 minutes ago and said he didn't know if he could make it back as his legs were getting very tired so to stick around in case he needs a ride.  I tried to call him back to chew him out and send my son after him and no answer.  Since he goes into A-fib at the drop of a pin I am upset this 54 year old man decided to try this.  If he isn't home soon I am going looking for him.   Men!

Well my husband came dragging his sheepish self home admitting that he had made a huge mistake trying to ride out there.  It turned out to be 47 miles round trip and when he got to the 20 mile mark he realized he was in trouble.  His hip was killing him and the wind was horrible.  I chewed him out but was sooooooo glad to see he made it home OK.  My son who rides 50 to 60 miles on his bike easily was shocked his Dad would try it as he knows how hard it is under these conditions.  We do 14 miles easily but not when it is like this outside.

One more day of work.  Yippy.

I can't believe he did that!!  I'm sure glad he made it home safely!  That's a H** of a LONG ride!!  WHEW!  I wouldn't attempt that!  My average was 10 miles when I was riding regularly.  And that was long enough!
Have a good night at work.
