Question for my friends over the pond.

On a couple of movies, The Worlds Fastest Indian, and All Things Bright and Beautiful I have hear this saying and would love to know the origin.  What is the origin of Bob's Your Uncle?  What a delightful and strange phase.  So.... Where does it come from.  I kind of know what it means.  Thanks you all.

Julie it's an old saying that basically means everything is ok, all is safe, your ok,  and a few other meanings...goes way back to a British Prime Minister and someone he put in office. I would probably have to read up on it but if I am wrong I'm sorry. I remember my Aunt Olive talking about it and she was British.
Hugs from Doreen :)))))
