Alone

I woke up this morning strangely alone.  Rick, chicken, always sleeps in the guest room when I am sick, but Zoey was gone.  I must be better.  I slowly lifted my head from the pillow and the splitting head pain I have had for 2 days is a quiet dull ache, yippy!  Finally feeling better.   I did not go to work last night,  just couldn't get the energy to go, and still felt chilled.   Now I have to figure out how to work some extra to pay the bills.

Things have been going pretty good at the antique store.  My items are selling and bringing pretty good prices.  Maybe I should have done this all along.  No packing and hauling things to the post office.  Neat.  Now to make a profit.

I started doing this because I am a collector.  I collect American art pottery.  Since it can be expensive I started selling some things to help me afford to buy the items I really like.  At auctions a lot of times you end up with boxes of items to get the one item you wanted in the box.  I used to just drop everything I didn't want off at the Goodwill.  Finally about 5 years ago I decided to sell what I didn't want.

In the beginning Ebay was a great place to sell.  Your items brought great prices and it didn't cost alot to post them.  Not alot of people were selling so there were items that were hard to find in different area's of the country were listed.  After awhile I found myself going to auctions not for what I wanted but for what I could sell, and my addiction was born.  LOL.   I won't get rich, but I do have fun and I do have some wonderful items in my collection.

One thing I did while I was sick was finish my book I have been reading.  Since keeping my head upright bothered me I laid in bed for most of the 2 days.   Today I finished Julie & Julia by Julie Powell.   I had to read the book of course because of the name.  My name is Julia but I go by Julie most of the time.  Except at work.  At work there are 3 Julie's so I go by my given name.  This book is good.  More swearing then I like but I rarely swear so I notice it more.  She spent a year cooking all the recipes in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking.  Pretty funny stuff.  She started out a blog writer and we can all relate to that, except for in my case of course, she is a good writer, LOL.  The bad thing was laughing made my head hurt more.

So back to work tonight.  Thank goodness.  Why I couldn't have gotten ill on my days off I'll never know.  We made the mistake of celebrating getting all of our medical bills paid off so that is probably why I got sick, to remind us that nothing is for certain.

Next week I start training for the ride again.  I am ashamed to admit  I have not been on my bike since the ride.  First I was too sore then too busy.  Now I have to work.  But I do want to get in some rides before we finish the ride.  My birthday is in 12 days so I haven't much time.

Now last but not least.  It is time for awards for those of you in J-land who have been around a year, you know what I mean.  Go to this link and vote to have the award again and then write about it in your journal so we get the work out.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Don't overdue it, though.

I've never bought or sold anything on EBay.  I'm so out of the loop!

Glad to hear that you're feeling better!

Hugs,
