Yup, the joy of working on April Fools days. Every call is suspect. Every admit written on the board with your name, suspect.
Julie....your getting an admit. GI bleed, needs 5 units of blood, 500 pounds, doesn't speak english, unresponsive. Your thinking.....please let this be a April Fools joke. Yup...just a barrel of laughs all night.
The really bad thing. I must be off form still from this headache. I couldn't come up with a really good one all night. I usually am the master at making this day fun. Can't help it. I love a good practical joke. Sigh, I must be getting old.
My last night tonight. We are pretty full but it was a good night all in all. I love the people I work with on my weekend. Makes working so much fun. We all do our job which makes it good. No slackers. Onebad egg so to speak, but we have none. It makes the floor run smoother and its nice to know we have each others back. I can trust each and everyone of them. We are good at what we do, brag brag, but its true.
My sleep was less then wonderful. Not having alot of luck with the sleeping pill. Got 5 hours great sleep and then tried to sleep for 2 more. Finally gave up. I need to make my room darker. It didn't use to bother me but now with this trouble sleeping it does. And all the happy little birds outside chirping up a storm and my California neighbor happily chopping down trees all weekend doesn't help. Wish it was raining again today. would have made sleeping nicer.
Whine whine whine, Gee. I have been doing alot of that lately. Sorry. I really am a fairly positive person.....really!

LOL at the April Fool's jokes. It's nice to be able to laugh and have some fun at work and nice to have all good people to work with. I'm sure not sleeping well is not helping your headache. Grrr...that tree cutting would drive me whacko. Chris

How funny that y'all April Fool each other, and the patients, too! Not sleeping is hard to take. Happens to me all the time, and I HATE it.... Kill the neighbor, that should help. lol

Hi Julie. I had to laugh at the patient's prank regarding Vtach. I'd have playfully scolded them both! LOL!
Oh and the admission....that's a true nightmare one if you ask me LOL! Whoever thought of that was clever!
Maybe you can come up with something tonight. It IS April Fool's until midnight, after all. <sly grin>
When I worked nights I had to make my room totally dark during the day, and used a window air conditioner to keep it cool, and for white noise. It was like a different world in my room. That neighbor would be getting on my last nerve. You're much more patient than I am.

LMAO, my, my are you nurses a slightly crazy bunch. I have an almost impossible time sleeping during the day, the only way I would be able to manage it would be to have the room completely dark. As for your neighbor.....he would be on my last nerve. We have one of those who doesn't work at all. So he is up early during the summer. Mowing his lawn, and then of all things using a snow blower to get the grass of his driveway and walkway. Someone should tell these people there is a polite curtesy for what time is proper. Oh poor you! I use earplugs and throw a washcloth over my eyes. Then there is that trazadone I suggested, hint hint. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon! De ;)
