Well, not going to get warm this way.

Well, disaster has struck.  My husband called me at work to tell me the blower motor in the furnace was going out.  What does that mean?  No heat.  He worked on it and has it so that if he keeps the temp around 63 so it doesn't run very often we might be able to squeak by until tomorrow and then see if someone will fix it.  Problem is the furnace is about 45 years old.  They are going to want to put a new furnace in.  I can't afford a new furnace.  I don't know what I will do if they won't fix the part and insist in the furnace.  I simply am maxed out on any payments and can't take another one on.  The only luxury we have is our gym membership.  No cell phones, no tv, I have aol but that isn't much of a savings if I drop it.  If only that old couple hadn't stolen my winning lottery ticket, LOL.  When it snows it blizzards.

So here I sit getting ready for bed dressing in long johns, sweat pants and sweatshirt, socks and getting all the extra covers out.  Is it Spring yet.  I have a fireplace clock in my bedroom, wonder if it will let off any heat.

In our previous house we had an ancient furnace. With honest service people it seemed it always could be repaired, things were once built to last. When I would call I'd ask them to send a repairman familiar with older furnaces, hopefully at least as old as the furnace. <grin>

i am sure it can be fixed but you might want to look at new furnaces before next winter:) good luck we did this last year the church and the house furnace both went out so they both needed to be replaced

Aw, Julie, isn't that just the pits?  I know exactly how you feel.  My furnace isn't that old but always acts up.  I think it's ready to have a repair done.  I pray they can fix yours.  I'm always so maxed out on things myself and live very frugally.  Homes and cars just eat away everything.  Try and stay warm.  Love that clock of yours...wish it did put out some heat.  Chris

Oh wow, that is not the best news, is it?  I hate that your furnace is calling it quits this time of year.  Maybe something will pop up that makes this not so bad...financially speaking that is.

I am so sorry about your furnace!!  But when you can't, you can't...what do you do, but layer on the clothes.  Unfortunately, you live in a part of the country where heat is absolutely needed.  :(

OH WOW I hope you stay warm!  You NEED a furnace!  I had to replace the old furnace in this house about 13 yrs ago.  Do you have a fireplace?
Always something, huh?

Well, my Youtube addiction is now into its fifth month and I have that sick gut feeling of not stopping by enough. Why must I take things on with extremes? And then, here, geese, no heat...during the winter time? Julie, I know you must be worried and stressed. I sooo hope this is a bearable financial fix? Do you know anyone who knows how to do this? Get a decent deal? ~Raven

I'm sorry your furnace is giving up, maybe with luck they'll be able to fix it temporarily to last the winter out. You need to win the lottery this week, don't let the old couple buy any more tickets! Keep warm, I hope you can get this sorted without having too much expense. Jeannette xx
