Maybe good news

Well while I slept Rick has been busy.  He has the model number and part number so has been seeing if we could just get the part and he could put it in.  Of course none of the local people want him to do that, they want some of the action and they have the parts marked up.  Not getting anywhere with them Rick went on line and found the part we need at a 40% savings, even with shipping. Under $200!

I always tease him I keep him around because he is so handy and can fix anything that breaks.  This included.  Of course we have to order the part and have it shipped but we should have heat within 2 to 3 days.  Since we are having a heat wave today, it is 12 above, we should be able to survive.

I now dress to get out of bed like I usually do to go outside, but I am a tough old lady, and a broke old lady LOL and can handle that.  I gain 10 pounds just putting on all my layers.  I have these nifty slippers you nuke in the microwave and they stay warm about 20 minutes.  I also have my heating pad on my lap.  Cozy and warm.  Of course I am sipping my hot coffee and a hot buttered rum may be just the thing this evening to warm me to my toes.

I remember once in Canada we were fishing in the middle of this huge lake way out in the boondocks.  No houses around for miles and miles.  The motor broke down on the boat and we faced the prospect of spending the night in it.  Rick was able to fix the motor with things he juryrigged from our tackle box.  I love that in a man, LOL

I was putting biofreeze on my knee and see it is bruised now.  I might has torn something inside which would account for the sharp pain.  I sure hope this doesn't mess up my bike riding.  The doc says I will have to get them scoped and cleaned out soon the way they sound anyway.

Well I am guessimating 58 days until warm enough weather to ride my bike and stay out of the house longer then from the house to the car.  Let the countdown begin!

Yes!!!  Let the countdown begin!!!    great news about the part!    (have you thought about kerosene? as a temporary fix?)
My knees sound like they have sand in them....have for years.    Is this what yours sound like?    What is the process for this "scoped and cleaned out" thing you mention?   <Ah'm skeered.>

Glad your hubby is so handy.  LOL..praises to the internet because you can find just about anything.  Seems you are doing pretty well coping with the chill.  Hope the scoping does the trick and just in time for bike riding.  I'm counting the days for the heat to return.  Chris

I need a man whose gifted like your hubby although, being stuck in a boat in Canada at night, might have been fun. Depending on how many belows freezing it was, lol. ~Raven
