Work

I am bushed.   Work has been.....well work!  Yesterday I got pulled to the surgical floor for 12 hours.  Oh the pain meds I gave all night.  We don't give that many pain meds on our floor, just drips.  Give me heart drips any day.   My back was just screaming.  Tonight we were having blue light specials on flash pulmonary edema.  Back and forth to the ICU pushing loaded beds, what fun and I was charge at 11.  Every light was on and we were getting transfers at the same time we were sending them to ICU.   Never a boring moment and the 12 hours just flew by.  I feel every second of my age today.  I am so ready for bed.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  We have rain and storms knocking off all of our beautiful fall foliage.  And I didn't get any pictures.  Hospice thinks it may be time for me to take my Leave of absence so I am talking to my boss in the morning.  Hope it goes well.

    Well....night all.

Whilst it might make the night go faster when you are busy its the weariness  you bring back home that's the killer...isn't it?  I've seen me be so tired I haven't been able to sleep until I did a whole role play of the day.  Yawn!  I had a sleeless night last night, so thinking about your tiredness has me yawning.   Lol!
So Betty is getting frailer?   God Bless her!  My prayers are with her and all of you as she lets go.
I pray for her to pass over peacefully and with no fear.

Sleep well Julie and try to re-charge your batteries.  It sounds like you are going to have a long haul of stress and concerns.

Take care my friend

Shifts like that go so fast for me, but are so stressful! I always come away dog tired after shifts like that! I hope you get some good rest.
Sorry to hear MIL is starting to come to the end. You knew it...but it's still hard to face, isn't it? This will be tough on Rick. I feel bad for him. No matter how old a man is...they still LOVE their Mothers. Give him a big hug for me ok?

Aw, Julie, sorry to hear that it's time for your leave.  I hope your MIL is comfortable.  Boy, I'll say you have to be tired after 12 hrs of steady moving and grooving.  Nurses work so hard for every penny.  Get some rest.  Chris

I'm sorry it's almost time to take leave of absence. I know you're expecting it but it doesn't make it any easier does it? Jeannette xx
