Today, rather I guess last night....I saved someones life. Did they know I saved their life? Maybe not. I pride myself on being calm. Being calm makes the patients calmer which makes their hearts calmer. Hopefully if I do my job right the patient will never know how close he or she came to meeting their maker. This patient came very close. Actually 2 of my patients came very close. I didn't let them get any closer. I am not bragging or patting myself on the back. Just stating the facts. So today. .... today.....I feel good. I feel happy about the job I did last night. The patient may not know I saved their life. That isn't important weather they know or not., how close they came. Actually I am happy they didn't know how close they came. But I know......I know. And I am glad. Makes me love my job every single day and night. Every nurse and doctor and policeman or any other person who does this type of job will know what this feeling is. Just knowing....just knowing you made a difference counts.

I know the feeling you are going through. I've come away from people thinking the same thing before. It is a good feeling and one that makes you very happy at your own life choices.

Caregivingly Yours, Patrick
People like you saved my husband when he had his heart attack a year and a half ago. I thank you and others like you for that gift of having him with me for much longer on this earth.
Hold your head up high and let your hear take wings with pride Julie. You deserve it!
Hugs...Jeanie xx
And THAT is why you and I became a nurse...to make a difference in someone's life. Good job, Julie! De ;)
You make a difference every time you step into your nursing uniform. For that I couldn't thank you enough. We need more people who care, about their jobs, about others. (Hugs) Indigo
