Blogging

So, I hear we can migrate our journal to a new blog.  So to test it I started a new blog.  Frankly I don't care for it as well.  I don't like the photo's as well but I guess I will get used to it.  So I created a blog and I don't see a migrate button.  Hopefully they will tell us how to do that.

I have had this journal for 3 years.  I am a paid AOL user because of my journal.  That is really the only reason I stayed with AOL.  So now I will be able to free up this money.  May be a good thing.  Because I certainly won't pay for them without being able to have my journal.  I can get the same things for nothing elsewhere.   I hope we all go to blogs.  I don't want to lose touch with everyone from here.  So as you all create your new blogs please let us know so I can add them to my newly created blog folder.  Hope to see you all there.

I think a few of us will be reviewing our AOL payments in light of this decision - these blogs are certainly the only reason I stay on AOL

If you think you can migrate your current journal you are wrong.  By migrate they mean the people, us setting up new blogs.  Our current ones will be deleted.  You can only save special entries by printing them off.  I have tried other ways and it does not work.

They just updated through Magic Smoke.  Starting Oct 7th, you will be sent directions to migrate your whole journal...photos, graphics, comments and all entries to blogger or blogspot, both the same thing.  You can't migrate now because it's not completely set up yet.  Private journals will need to go public for migration.  You also have to request blogger or aol or both to do it.  Pain in the butt and I'm also paying but wont' be soon.  Chris

I will soon begin the process of opening a Blogger Journal Julie.  As soon as I have...I'm running out of time at the moment, I will let you and others know.  I do have an MSN journal which is a 'sleeper' these days, but I might just begin to use that if Blogger is difficult.  I have been able to directly copy over entries from my aol to MSN in the past so know that I can do that.  At present I am saving it all to Word Documents to be on the safe side.  Then I will have a go at Blogger.
AOHELL is certainly that but Vish on Magic Smoke is doin g his best by us as is Guido.
Meanwhile...busy busy busy!
See you soon

Not to add salt to the wound, but you didn't need to keep the paid AOL service for the blogs.  I've been on the free program for nearly 3 years now, and have had no problems at all with the journals.  At any rate, it doesn't really matter now does it?
