Sigh

I have been trying to get a really positive outlook about this entire thing but the truth is...... It sucks.

Maybe I am just running on tired this week and can't seem to think clearly.  I look at the instructions for moving my entire journals over to the blog site and I have a headache.

Outside my window a doe quietly eats grass, no concerns about anyone ripping 3 years of her life out from under her.  She doesn't have to look at her pictures, all 3000 of them, and decide which to keep and which to let go.  She doesn't have to look in her archives for old entries she doesn't want to lose.

What bothers me!  What if we do start all over and it is closed down in the new site.  Could happen,

Now I have 2 deer by the way.  Mother and fawn.  The little one is getting its first horns, so cute.  The coat has darkened for winder.  They look healthy this year.  Must be getting enough to eat.

     Anyway, back to my whine

I will give it a try.  I probably won't go overboard again.  Learned my lesson.  I have photo's in several different places, hopefully they will stay open.  The reality...with the economy I guess I can't blame them.  Some places will go under.  But why did it have to be this place?

I agree. I have my new journal up and running but I am not happy with it. I do not like the fact that comments are not in order, you have to scan to the bottom to see the latest one, I do not like the fact that there are no alerts so you have to rely on people coming to check.  I do not like the fact you have to copy the verification code to add a comment.  I will wait and see what happens when our journals are transferred.  If we can still use them I will probably stick with that one and delete the one I am using now.   I will see how it goes, I still might not stay at all.  AOL have thrown away a diamond.

I'm not happy a bit at all, Julie.  The more I think of it, the less happy I get.  We are supposed to get an e-mail about Oct 7.  AOL and Blogspot are going to migrate our entire journals to Blogspot, so they say, comments, graphics, pictures and all.  We have to request it and also have to be public to have it happen.  We'll see.  Not a happy camper here....Chris

I don't like the new blogger at all. I think we all got spoiled at how easy it was to motivate around on AOL journals. Helen

PS Julie I found a way to get entry alerts. You have to enter each blog in it but if you want to check it out here it is. Helen

I'm a bit frustrated too, Julie.  I hope we will be able to migrate our entries.  Just a wait and see.  In the meantime, here is where I will be....

The official excuse from AOL is that nobody used the journals, and it was not one of the more popular features.  funny, I thought that a whole lot of activity went on in j-land.  Guess I was wrong.  I'm sure it comes down to a financial decision.  Now that most of AOL members are free, they don't have near as much money coming in.  That means that they have to cut something...guess it was our lives.

ok...i've just been working on a new journal with bloggers.  it's easier than i thought it would be and you can add followers and even a subscribe link so that others can subscribe to your journal.  it's not what we've been use to, but i think once we adjust to the change and start using it, we'll find many aspects we like.  hope you come on over.

Julia, All of you seem SO creative on your blogs...for goodness sake I even have trouble signing my name...I still have an identity crisis.
Persevere...and let's face it your view outside is enough to make all the frustrations of this whole AOL thing not so traumatic.
