Sad day

Just hear AOL is closing us down.  All my journals will be lost if I can't figure out how to save them.  AFter all the work on my vacation journal.  Why is that.  This truly sucks.  So if anyone wants to help walk me through how to save the journals I love drop me a line.  This is sad.

I haven't a clue as yet Julie.  I am devastated that they plan to do this!  Especially with such short warning.
Must go and make the evening meal but I shall be back to try and fathom it all out.

I, too, have no earthly idea on how to save
it all.  If someone helps you, pass it on.  I
feel like all my friends are moving away.
That is a sad feeling.  Keep us posted.  My
e-mail is krmprm@aol.com for now.  Pat

The only way to save is very time consuming.  You create a folder on your journal giving it the name and date of when you first started writing your journal, then you add all the entries for that month with the appropriate date.  You then have to create another folder for the next month and save them all as individual entries all with the appropriate date and so on and so on.  That is the only way apart from printing every single entry off.

yes, it's sad indeed.  And I don't know how to save it all either...

it is sad to lose our journals, but another distressing factor is losing touch with some wonderfu jland friends.  if any one can figure out how to save, meg will be right at the top.  in fact...i'm counting on her.

I recreated my blog on blogger.com. I decided to do one year at a time and copy and paste the entries from here to there. The nice thing is that you can backdate the entries to be posted on the same date and time (if you so choose) as when they were posted here. I have about 3 years of journals to move as well - ugh.

As far as keeping in touch, I'm saving email addresses and user id's to be able to contact everyone (who hasn't read my blog yet) to let them know I moved my blog.

Hope you are feeling better. Hugs~Jen

This really does bite the big one!!!  I do feel your pain, and I do hate it for you that you just did the vacation journal.  There has been a lot of work done on it I know.  I'm just so disgusted about my tips and tricks, spotlights, and of couse Hometown is going away, so my entire gallery is gone too.  I am left with nothing except for notebooks full of 5x7 proofs.  As you can tell, I am a bit bitter.
