Yes, I am a cool woman.

        I don't know if I will ever feel warm again, LOL.  I went to bed in my long johns, my sweat pants and sweat shirt, hat, gloves and socks, extra blanket and my nose was soooooo cold I could barely stand it.  We were holding out for today so I at least wouldn't have to pay weekend pay.  Hopefully we can get them out and they can just fix it.  I am off today and if they can't fix it I think chili sounds really good and a hot bath.  My bathroom has a heater, maybe I'll sleep in the tub, LOL.  Or buy a heated blanket.

   Work was so much better then the night before.  Surprisingly none of my patients watched the game.  Weren't interested.  That's a first.  But it was a good night and at least it was warm there.  Rick had to get up every 2 hours and turn the furnace on so it would run through a cycle and keep the water pipes from freezing.  Of course the stress from not getting enough sleep put him right into A-fib.  Stress or fatigue seems to trigger his attacks.

   My knee is really happy I am off today and maybe it can rest.  I have been icing it and using biofreeze all weekend.  It feels like something slips on it occasionally but it isn't as bad as it was Sat.  Saturday it went out on me when I was walking into a patients room and I almost lost my balance.  Wouldn't that have been cute....Hi I'm your nurse, plop on the floor....could you call and get me some help!  I think it will just take some time to get better.  2 more nights after this and then off again.  At least I don't have to ice it at home, just being here is ice enough.

   Well, time to sleep.  I want to be up if they come out today.  Stay warm all.

Well, not going to get warm this way.

     Well, disaster has struck.  My husband called me at work to tell me the blower motor in the furnace was going out.  What does that mean?  No heat.  He worked on it and has it so that if he keeps the temp around 63 so it doesn't run very often we might be able to squeak by until tomorrow and then see if someone will fix it.  Problem is the furnace is about 45 years old.  They are going to want to put a new furnace in.  I can't afford a new furnace.  I don't know what I will do if they won't fix the part and insist in the furnace.  I simply am maxed out on any payments and can't take another one on.  The only luxury we have is our gym membership.  No cell phones, no tv, I have aol but that isn't much of a savings if I drop it.  If only that old couple hadn't stolen my winning lottery ticket, LOL.  When it snows it blizzards.

   So here I sit getting ready for bed dressing in long johns, sweat pants and sweatshirt, socks and getting all the extra covers out.  Is it Spring yet.  I have a fireplace clock in my bedroom, wonder if it will let off any heat.

                  

A new Tourament is starting!

   I am finding it disturbing that my knee is still swollen, though not as much as this morning.  I will definitely take it easier at work if possible.  It always seems like when I have to take it easy though we have the worse nights, LOL.  Lots of emergencies.  I told them last night I couldn't do the code team duties and I think I will have to stick with that until I see the doc on Thursday.  However I think I had better call them Monday and let him know it has gotten worse.  I am bringing my biofreeze and brace to work with me tonight.

    Cold Cold Cold here today.  When it is this cold even though the sun is shining brightly you can look outside at the crispness and know it is cold.  Taking a deep breath out there is like inhaling ice crystals.  Burrrrrr. 

    I just got up and the house is quiet.  Where did everyone go?  Its kind of nice.  I wake up slow and some days the second I wake up Rick is talking away a mile a minute.  Darling......let me have my coffee first.  LOL.   Rick is heavy into world and political events and keeps me updated on all the horrible things that are going on, LOL.  No wonder he has high blood pressure.  I like to  keep on top of things but not live and  breath by talk radio.  Always scares the crap out of me and makes me want to curl up in a little ball and pull my covers over my head.

   Well, someone just got home.  Bye all.

Blue on Blue

       I thought it was neat the way this blue wasp chose this blue flower to dine on.  Maybe thats what turned it blue, LOL.  Pretty anyway.

   Well my knee is shot.  I was too hasty perhaps telling them to send me back without restrictions.  It is as big as a grapefruit again and it feels like it is slipping around at times,  I sure am not a rapid responder this way.  Tonight I am wearing the brace to see if it helps.  Darn thing is so tight though it makes my ankles swell, Witch witch witch, Sorry.   I hate being this gimpy.  They can put me on light duty but that just makes it so much harder for my co workers.  I will be happy when this it better.

  Did I hear somewhere that a woman had a 14 pound baby?  Ouch, now that is pain.

   It was a be good to your nurse night!  Yippy.  My terrible patient was gone which shocked and gladden my heart.  I would have skipped for joy if I could have.  Prayers do work .

   Well, I am off to bed.  I want to keep my legs up, put some biofreeze on my knee and sleep a million years.  Stay warm all.

  

Awake.....but alert?

   Saw this joke and thought is was funny, not funny.  Ever see those jokes.  Funny because they are so true...... not funny because they are so true.  Sigh.

    Heard the death toll is way up in Florida.  Glad to hear from you Shelly and know your OK.  I hate tornadoes.  Thank goodness I have a basement in this house.  Mother Nature has been pretty wicked this year.  One huge slam after another.  What next?

   The swelling in down again in my knee.  Feels better but my calf in my other leg is so sore like I have had a charlie.  I think it is from favoring my knee.

   An older man goes up to the White House gate and asked the Marine if he can see President Hillary Clinton.  The Marine says, I am sorry sir, you can't see her, she isn't the president and she's not here.  The man leaves.

   Next day the man is back and asks the Marine.  I want to see President Hillary Clinton.  The Marine again tells him, I am sorry sir you can't see her.  She isn't the president and she isn't here.  The man leaves again.

  3rd day again the man comes back and asks the Marine.  I want to see President Hillary Clinton.  Now the Marine is starting to lose his temper.  Look SIR.  I told you already.... She isn't president and she isn't here, why do you keep coming back?

  The man says,  Oh I know she isn't president.......I just like hearing it.

   The Marine stares at him a moment....salutes and say's.  See you tomorrow sir.

Whew, what a night

    Well in 2 hours of being at work I could tell my knee was swelling and the pain was returning.  Not as bad as it had been, but still tender.  Top it off with some real dilly of patients and it has been a really long night.  It must have been drive your nurse nuts night last night......... gee I meant to take that day off.  Hope today is make your nurse happy night.

   They had a terrible tornado in Florida, hope everyone in J-land is OK.  Prayers to you all.

Back to work

   Well I saw the Doc and am good to go for work tonight.   I am still having pain if I move it wrong but told him not to give me restrictions, I would just see how it goes and if I have any problems tonight I will give him a call.  I see him again next week. 

    He was kind of worried about the noices coming out of my knee and said someday I will need to have that all cleaned out.  If it affects my bike riding, yah maybe.  I told the doctor if my knee survives the weekend I was planning on hitting the gym Monday and he said that was OK as long as I took it easy and if I have no problems this weekend.  Then we talked bike riding and trails the rest of visit and how important making sure your bike is adjusted correctly when you have bad knees.  I rode one time with the bike not set up right and my knees where killing me so I know that is important.  He was impressed at how many miles I put in last year.

   Gee, guess what it is doing today?  Snowing again.  I personally am very tired of the whole thing.  Went to Donna's journal though and saw the snow of 77 which makes ours look not bad at all.  Need to remind myself of that.  Well, I have to get things ready for work.  Take care everyone.  On my long work week I usually read everyones alerts but don't always comment because I don't have much time.
