His eye is a little crusty, hopefully not because he is sick. He is really pretty sweet. They don't bite. He makes the cutest little sound and love carrots. can you tell I am falling in love. I talk to Chester....Zoey grabs something she isn't suppose to and runs around the room in a jealous fit. It makes for a lively room.
The police knocked at my door at 5 am. Greg...do you do that? At 4:30 am I woke up to the sounds of yelling and that dreaded F word. Repeatedly screamed out by the type of woman you can only pray your son doesn't bring home. A hairy man yelled back at her. Since I had taken a sleeping pill and a pain pill it was pretty loud to wake me up. I looked outside to see if they were going to be dangerous in my quiet neighborhood. She jumped in her car to take off and he rammed her with his car. Threading to fight until the end. She jumped out of car and started to scream how could he do that....she had small children in the car. Checking it out I saw it was true. So I called 911. I wanted to protect the children. From the adults who were definitely out of control. Imagine being small....maybe 5 and hearing this. It brought me back to my childhood. Images of my Dad beating my Mom. I turned on the lights so they knew they were being watched.
The car took off. I went back to bed. 4:55 , my son comes home and starts to brush his teeth. 5 Am the police officer shows up. They have the women and her small children. The man had been chasing her for 10 hours. But true love...or fear being what it was she wouldn't press charges. The officer wanted to arrest the man. For endangerment. I thought both of them. For endangerment. The poor children. The scars. The nightmares that will take years to erase. But I didn't see that man. I couldn't tell him what he looked like. Just an angry voice in the night. And the children's cries of fear.
Spring has finally arrived in Iowa. The birds and bunnies are mating, the trees are blooming. The breeze is warm. Its a wonderful feeling.
I went to PT. Mona is my therapist. I have had her before. She marvels at my limberness and is amazed I am still doing as good as I am doing. She knows my history. I tell her again I refuse to give in to the pain and become stuck in some wheelchair. Not yet. Not this year and hopefully ever.
There is little they can do for my middle back. I guess I knew that, I guess I have been told that before but you still keep hoping something will help. She gave me some new exercises and taped my back to give me some additional support. I told her about my bike ride, she just shakes her head and that I needed to start my training. I will do whatever I need to do.
Tomorrow I call my insurance company to see if they will pay for a TEN's unit. It helps some people with the pain. Maybe I am one of them. I have to admit to being alittle depressed about the entire thing but things could be worse. Right. As a nurse I know it could.
We grilled today and then I went for a ride around the neighborhood on my bike. Yikes. I have so much work to do. I plastered at my son's, a new skill for me but otherwise the ride is the most I did. It is beautiful out.
Now I am going to hit my awful hill with the dog. She flies up it, I gasp and wheeze. But the view will be wonderful. Take care all.

THE PASTOR'S CAT...
This particular story just made me laugh. Every time I think about it, the vision of that poor cat just amuses me to no end. Hope the story leaves a bright spot in your day.
Dwight Nelson recently told a true story about the pastor of his church. He had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down.
The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and pulled it until the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten.
That's what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car. He then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved the car a little further forward, the rope broke. The tree went 'boing!' and the kitten instantly sailed through the air - out of sight.
The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten.
So he prayed, 'Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping,' and went on about his business.
A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food.
This woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her, 'Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?'
She replied, 'You won't believe this,' and then told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing.
Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom finally told her little girl, 'Well, if God gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it.' She told the pastor, 'I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed right in front of her.'
Lesson learned: Never underestimate the Power of God and His unique sense of humor.

I have PT today. Hopefully they will get me one the right track. Yesterday I didn't do any work at the house as I was just hurting for certain. I needed a rest day. So instead we went to watch a friend of mine from work Roller Derby. I had never seen it before and it was fun once I realized what the goal was. They don't do it cheesy like it used to be on TV.
I woke up and just couldn't see yesterday. Myeyes were all blurry. I tried artificial tears but nothing helped. It was like the first day I got my glasses. Went to the derby and could hardly see my friend. My eyes were shot. I told her I was having trouble seeing that day which was a drag as I could hardly see her. My son got a picture of us though. I talked to a couple of people I knew and looked into being a sponsor. All the time being upset about my eyes and worried about why I couldn't see.
We get home and I decide to wash my glasses to see if that helps. Thats when I find out a lens is missing. It was missing the entire time. I found it on the floor in my bedroom. What a dolt I am. Here I was out and about complaining to everyone about how I couldn't see and they were probably thinking, if you had two lens in your glasses it would probably help, LOL. Or you know when someone has a booger hanging from their nose.....do you mention it or just pretend like you didn't notice! I told my husband, sheesh don't you ever look at me! Of course him my son were too busy laughing to answer. Sigh.
Anyway put the lens back in and surprise surprise, I could see again. What a relief. Cataracts weren't worse after all.
AOL is being strange today and won't let me put the entire entry in the same font and size. Sorry about that. Maybe they forgot their lens also.
My sons are both homes safe and sound. They drove 14 hours straight so made it early Sunday morning. So now I have all his stuff piled up plus a guinea pig I didn't know was coming. So her highness Zoey has her nose all bent out of shape.
I have 2 more nights to work. Today we got a dumpster rather then run my MIL's stuff to the dump, that way I can get my basement and garage and the old house emptied out. Plus a nice strong son to help with the heavy stuff. It is good to see him. He is hurting from missing his children but glad to see us.
I start PT this week. I am having so much trouble with pain I just need to try something. Maybe if I scheduled it for after work it will work out the kinks. Who knows.
Well, this is short but I am doing supper. Cooking! How domestic of me, LOL.
