Hi all
Pop on over to Dads and let him know your happy he is back up and running with his journal. Jeff helped him straighten everything out. Dad does an entry each and every day and really missed his journal not working, and we missed him. He has the coffee and a smile ready.

We had 3 new nurses on the floor last night. It was fun watching their freshness and happiness. I hope they have as many years loving the profession like I have. They had lots of questions so kept me on my toes and the night flew by. From what I can see so far they will all be good nurses. Good bedside manners already and good attitudes.
Zoey did well at the vets. The vet thinks it is allergies since she responded so well to the shot. He is giving her steroids for a month. I am not real happy about that as the side effects can be bad but she is doing so much better I will give it a shot. She looks pretty happy and has lost some weight so that is good. Down to 64 pounds of pure soft doggy fur.
My ankles are down today also and I am down 2 pounds so I had more fluid on board then I had thought. So like Zoey I am feeling pretty good also. No soft doggy fur though.
Yesterday right before I was leaving for work I looked in the back yard and saw these 2 bucks. The buck stops here, LOL. Terrible pictures as I had to shoot through the window. I have noticed if you point anything at the bucks they are gone. Too many people wanting to put that pretty head on their wall. Now there is one I just can't understand. I hate the taste of deer meat and they look so much prettier this way. If only they would stay out of the street in front of cars and out of my garden. They all the love the pears from the tree though.

2 more days of work
Shortly we will be on our way to the vets. Zoey looks good, the hair is growing back on her nose, and I hope it turned out to just be an allergy. I guess we won't know for sure until we see how she does off the medication. We also have to decide if we want them to biopsy her lumps. Our son Dan says to go ahead but I still am hesitant. They aren't bothering her and it will be difficult to keep her from messing with the sutures when there will be so many area's. We shall see.
Boy isn't this month going by fast! Its cold too. I am dreading having to turn the furnace on but since it is in the 40's at night its getting cold. My out door plants will have to be moved in soon and one I need to repot. It does so terrible in the winter. I hope the sun lamp I got helps prevent it from dying. When I put it out this spring it was so near death I didn't think it had a prayer of surviving. Now it is thriving.
This morning I spent in doors. I had to take some lasix as my legs are pretty swollen. When I ride my bike alot and sweat alot I don't have the swelling as bad. In fact I usually will have ankles and firm looking calfs. Not being able to ride since last week though are taking their toll. My doc wants me to come in and get a BNP test to see if I am in heart failure. I told her I would give it some thought, LOL. Very little thought. My goal for the rest of the year is no doctor visits. Guess it is time to hit the gym and start working out there again.
Well, I haven't really got anything new to say. I have been counting points again. The birthday week of overindulgence is over. Time to get back on track. 2 more nights to work and then off for my long stretch. Yippy.

A Cavity!
I can't believe it, Rick hardly ever flosses or even brushes his teeth as often as I do and I HAVE THE CAVITY! Sucks big time. Plus I don't like getting my face numbed and sitting around all day with coffee dribbling down my face. Once I had 2 teeth pulled. I had to walk through our downtown. People were staring and pointing at me. I smiled through my pain and numbness thinking they know, they know I have just been tortured. How? It was a terrible tooth extraction. He stood on my chair twisting and turning trying to get my tooth out while I cried and wished for an easier death. What had I done to deserve this horror!
Staggering to my car I turned the key and started the engine. Checking the mirror for cars I reeled in horror to see my face staring back at me. The dentist had stuck guaze rolls in each corner of my face giving me chipmunk cheeks. Drippling down each of my swollen and disfigured checks was a trail of fresh bright red blood. No wonder everyone had stared at me in shock and disbelief. I looked like someone had punched me hard in the jaw. Repeatedly. I couldn't even feel the blood dripping down the corner of my mouth because I was so numb.
I can't get in until Dec. to get my tooth worked on. That gives me a few months of carefree living. Then the horror........the horror...................................................
A day off.
Of course I have to spend some of it at the dentist for my teeth cleaning, not fun but still it will be nice to chill. Cool and cloudy out right now. I got a new filter for my camera I am just dying to try out so of course it will be cloudy everyday I am off. I wish I had had it for my ride. No bike ride today. By the time I wake up around 1 and get ready for the dentist and then get supper fixed it will be late. I hate that it gets dark so soon.
Tomorrow Zoey goes back to the Vet. Her nose looks much better and she is happy as a dog. No worries. I hope he says she is all better and it is not lupus. Still have to see about getting the lumps taken off. Also my son told me he is thinking of moving out. Sigh. I will really miss him. We don't see him much but if he moves it will be even less. I want them to be babies again so we can do it all over again. They were so fun when they were young. Course the teenage years sucked some times, LOL.
Well, I had a busy night last night so am ready for bed. Happy to say I save a life last night. Just all in a nights work but it is a nice feeling knowing someone is alive today because of you. Night all!

Ear stapling and other thoughts
Yup, ear stapling for weight loss. It sounds like a quack thing and looks pretty barberic but there has been some real success with it. I am thinking of having it done. By someone who does it alot and uses sterile tech. of course. Actually about 4 of us nurses are thinking about it. If I do I will let you know what happens and if it works.

Last night at work they had a pot luck for me for my birthday, oh boy what great food. We had barbeque ribs, some type of potato casserole, cheesecake, cake, potato salad, not a diet food in sight. It was really good but I sure am feeling chubby tubby today. Anyway. Rick just got home with supper, also not diet food, pizza. Obviously I have fallen far off the wagon. Not for long though. See ya later.
OK, it is now after supper and I am still researching the ear staple. The more I read the more what I suspected come to light. That is why I usually don't get suckered into things because I start out with an open mind and then read, read, read. I didn't get to be the advanced age of 52 without having fallen for some of the lose weight quick schemes out there, but I do realize the only really effective way to lose weight is to eat right and portion control. Maybe if I staple my mouth shut!

Bike Ride Entry
I have my entry done about the bike ride if anyone is interested. I have been working non stop since I got home so haven't been to every journal. I have been reading the alerts but haven't gotten them all replied to. One more day and then a day off.
