My BIL has vacated the premises. No I am not jumping for joy, but I am relieved. Would you believe it has been a year since he came to visit! Bad thing is tomorrow I go to work and I would like to finish everything there. He left a filthy fridge with old food. A filthy stove, he took the TV he said he wasn't taking and we told the auctioneer to sell, and smelly old cigarette butts, but all that can be cleansed and thrown away. I will call the auctioneer and tell him the things that will no longer be on the sale. Where is my BIL? We have no idea.
Did they serve him...or did he go on his own?

One year already. Wow, it doesn't seem like that long but then again you've had to deal with him. I hope he is long gone and far away. Good luck with the auction. Chris

YEAH, Julie! i am happy for you all that he has gone, although i am sure there are mixed emotions with not knowing where he is. now you can all get on with your son moving in and beginning a new chapter in his life :)

I'm so relieved he's finally gone. Never fear he's not far, he won't be until he gets his share of the house. I would give a list of items missing to the lawyer and have it subtracted from his half. Just to be on the safe side and to keep anything else from missing, you might want to change the locks too hon. Sorry he left things in such a sorry state of affairs, I'm not surprised though.
